Estate Planning

Estate planning & probate

Wills, trusts, probate, guardianship, and conservatorship — the documents that protect the people you love before they are needed.

Protecting the people you love — and the legacy you have built — comes down to putting the right documents in place before they are needed. It is the rare area of law where a few hours of planning can spare a family years of difficulty.

Whether you are planning ahead or administering a loved one’s estate, you will work directly with an attorney who treats it with the care it deserves, and who will tell you plainly which tools you need and which you do not.

What we help with

  • Wills, revocable & irrevocable trusts
  • Powers of attorney & health-care directives
  • Probate & estate administration
  • Guardianship & conservatorship
  • Farm & family business succession

How we work together

  1. InventoryWhat you own, who you are providing for, and what you want to happen — in plain language.
  2. DraftDocuments built for your situation, explained line by line before you sign anything.
  3. Keep currentA plan is only good while it still matches your life. Revisit it when the facts change.

Common questions

Do I really need a trust, or is a will enough?
It depends on your assets, your family, and your goals — not on a template. A short consultation is usually enough to tell you honestly which tools fit your situation and which you do not need.
What happens if someone dies without a will?
State law then decides who inherits, in a fixed order that may have nothing to do with what the person actually wanted. Probate still happens; it simply happens without your instructions in it.
